What Happened

Nine fishermen left the Kasimedu fishing harbour on a mechanised boat on 29 October. As the cyclone approached, the boat sheltered on the Andhra coast. It went missing in the first days of November after reportedly developing engine trouble at sea. Five bodies have been recovered, and the search for the other four is going on with fishing boats from Chennai and Andhra Pradesh and Indian Coast Guard ships.
