A Long Career in Public Service

Selected to the Indian Administrative Service in 1967, he began as Assistant Collector in Tirunelveli.
He went on to serve as Collector of the Nilgiris, Commissioner of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments, Principal Commissioner of Revenue Administration and Chairman of SIDCO.
He rose to become Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu, and served with distinction in every role.

The Chief Minister conveyed his deepest condolences to Sugavaneswar’s family, relatives and friends, and to the senior officers of the Tamil Nadu government.
