Veteran playback singer Krishnaraj Ramasamy passed away in Chennai on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at the age of 75. Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay said he was “shocked and deeply saddened” to hear of his passing, and called it a great loss to Tamil cinema.
The Chief Minister conveyed his condolences to Krishnaraj’s family, friends and fans. Members of the Tamil film fraternity, including actor Sarath Kumar, also paid their respects. His earthy, folk-flavoured voice gave many village and devotional songs a place in Tamil homes.
