To strengthen Tamil Nadu’s electricity network, Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay issued a set of orders at an energy department review on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.
New substations reduce overloading and voltage drops, and more line staff mean faster restoration when lines trip. The order came on the same day the government released its white paper on the State’s finances and electricity sector, and set the course for the monsoon readiness work that followed in October.
