CM Vijay chairs a high-level review of the Planning and Development Department at the Secretariat, examining progress on key schemes and future planning priorities.
Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on Wednesday chaired a high-level review meeting with officials from the Planning and Development Department at the Secretariat, focusing on the progress of key government projects, development schemes, and future planning priorities across Tamil Nadu.
The meeting is part of a broader, department-by-department review exercise CM Vijay has been conducting since taking office, aimed at drawing up structured one-year, three-year, and five-year action plans for every government department. The Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Department is responsible for coordinating with all other departments to achieve sustainable development goals, strategic planning in coordination with NITI Aayog, and evaluating major government schemes and programmes.
Alongside the departmental review series, CM Vijay has been overseeing preparation of the State Budget for the 2026-27 financial year, meeting ministers and senior officials from various departments on a near-daily basis to review ongoing projects and finalise budgetary priorities ahead of the upcoming Budget Session.
