CM Vijay toured key industrial establishments in the Sriperumbudur-Oragadam manufacturing corridor on Monday, one of Tamil Nadu's largest industrial clusters and a major hub for the state's automobile, engineering and manufacturing sectors.
The Chief Minister began his visit at Saint-Gobain India Private Limited's World Glass Complex at Irungattukottai, one of the company's major manufacturing facilities in the country, where he interacted with officials and reviewed operations. He then inspected the SIPCOT project office at Mambakkam near Sriperumbudur, reviewing ongoing infrastructure projects and industrial development initiatives in the region, with officials briefing him on facilities available in the industrial estates and support measures for existing industries and prospective investors.
CM Vijay later proceeded to Oragadam, where he visited the Daimler Buses India manufacturing facility, before touring the Renault-Nissan automobile manufacturing plant near Sriperumbudur. The corridor's strategic proximity to Chennai, its ports and national highways has been central to its growth as a manufacturing base, with officials highlighting ongoing efforts to attract further investment and expand industrial infrastructure across the region.
