CM Vijay makes an unannounced visit to the M.C. Rajah Adi Dravidar Hostel in Saidapet, hearing student complaints about food quality and facilities, and directs officials to take immediate corrective action.
Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay made a surprise inspection of the M.C. Rajah Adi Dravidar Hostel in Saidapet, Chennai, on Friday morning, giving him a direct, unfiltered look at conditions on the ground. He interacted with students during the visit, hearing their concerns in person.
During the visit, students raised concerns about insects and worms found in food served at the hostel, along with complaints about inadequate facilities and safety issues. CM Vijay heard these concerns directly from residents rather than through official channels, giving him a first-hand account of the conditions students were living and studying under.
Following the inspection, CM Vijay instructed officials to take immediate corrective action to address the issues raised, including improving food quality, upgrading facilities, and strengthening safety measures at the hostel. The visit continues a pattern of unannounced inspections by the Chief Minister at public institutions since taking office, following earlier surprise visits to government hospitals and other welfare facilities.
