The Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute of Tamil Nadu (EDII-TN) — a Tamil Nadu Government institution under the Department of MSME — runs a wide calendar of hands-on, in-person skill training programmes in Chennai, including a Generative AI workshop tailored for entrepreneurs, startups and MSMEs across the state.
These workshops teach participants to use AI tools for marketing, content creation, market research, prompt engineering and business automation — with no prior technical background required. This is part of the TVK government's broader vision to make Tamil Nadu a technology-empowered state at every level of business.
Participants gain practical, immediately applicable skills including prompt engineering fundamentals, AI-assisted marketing and content creation, market research using AI tools, and business productivity automation. The goal is to help small business owners use AI as a daily productivity multiplier — saving time, reducing costs and reaching more customers.
EDII-TN's AI training programme directly supports the TVK government's commitment to empowering Tamil Nadu's 40+ lakh MSME sector through technology. The CM Vijay government has also created India's first dedicated AI Ministry — and EDII-TN's grassroots AI workshops are one of the ground-level delivery mechanisms for that ambition.
