Eight new industriesEight companies were approved to set up operations in Tamil Nadu.
Thalambur landA committee will resolve the land issue affecting about 3,000 families and 15 educational institutions near Chennai, in line with the Supreme Court’s verdict; relief for residents and long leases for institutions are being considered.

Prison securityMore CCTV cameras, body-worn cameras for wardens, advanced screening and AI monitoring of perimeter walls; new central prisons are being built in Coimbatore and Madurai.

What the Survey Will Cover

The survey will be separate from the national caste count. It will gather detailed socio-economic data — family income, occupation, land ownership, education, school and college enrolment, dropout rates and access to welfare schemes. Social Justice Minister Vanni Arasu said it will pay special attention to the Adi Dravidar community and the obstacles to its progress. The survey was promised in the Governor’s address to the Assembly.
