CM Vijay presided over the exchange of four Memoranda of Understanding in Chennai, bringing new investment commitments from global insurer Chubb, German wind turbine manufacturer Nordex, South Korean EV components maker MotiveLink, and the University of Western Australia — marking the first international university campus to be established in Tamil Nadu.

The University of Western Australia, ranked 77th in the QS World University Rankings 2026, will establish its Tamil Nadu campus in Velachery, Chennai, spanning roughly 50,000 sq ft with an investment of ₹125 crore — the first campus of an international university to be set up in the state. Separately, MotiveLink will build a ₹300 crore manufacturing facility at SIPCOT Pillaipakkam in Kancheepuram district producing EV components including coils, PCBs, magnetic components, housings and filters, building on the state Industries Minister's visit to South Korea in June.
The investments add to Tamil Nadu's rapidly expanding Global Capability Centre ecosystem, which already counts over 350 GCCs in Chennai and more than 80 in Coimbatore, with emerging hubs developing in Madurai and Tiruchirappalli. Industry estimates cited by officials project the state's GCC sector could support up to 1.5 million jobs by 2030.
