At the Temple

Under tight security, the Chief Minister entered the temple through the East Tower (Kizhakku Gopuram), where the temple administration received him with a poorna kumbham welcome — the traditional honour of a full vessel offered to distinguished visitors. He took part in a special puja, offered worship to Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Sundareswarar, and then visited important parts of the temple complex, including the Potramarai Kulam, the Golden Lotus tank, according to Nakkheeran.

The visit came eleven days after the temple’s kumbabhishekam (consecration) on September 17, 2026.

The Road Show

After the temple visit, Vijay held a road show, standing in an open vehicle and greeting the people gathered on both sides of the road with folded hands and waves. Reports described the city as wearing a festive look for the visit, with crowds turning out through the day — from the morning road show between the airport and Rajaji Hospital to the evening procession.
