1. Who we are

VettriThalapathy.com (“we”, “the site”) is a fan-run news and information site about Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay and the TVK government. It is not run by the Government of Tamil Nadu or by any political party. For this policy, we are the Data Fiduciary under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

2. What we collect

Nothing to read the site. You do not need an account, and we do not ask for your name, phone number or address.
Analytics — only if you click “Accept”. Google Analytics 4 then records anonymous usage data such as pages viewed, approximate city or region, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. We do not receive your name or contact details.
Article view counts. When you open an article, the site adds one to that article’s view count. Only the total number is stored; no personal data, IP address or cookie is kept with it.
Emails you send us. If you write to us, we receive your email address and message, and use them only to reply.

We do not use advertising, remarketing or social-media tracking cookies. Embedded YouTube or X (Twitter) posts are loaded from those services when you view them, and their own privacy policies apply.

4. Analytics only with your consent

By default, no analytics script is loaded. We use Google Consent Mode v2 with all storage set to “denied”. Google Analytics is loaded only after you click Accept. If you click Decline, or later change your choice to Decline, analytics stays off and its cookies are deleted from your browser.

5. How we use the data

To understand which pages are read most and improve the site.
To fix broken pages and keep the site fast.
To reply to messages you send us.

We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with anyone for marketing. We do not build profiles about you.

6. How long we keep data

Google Analytics data: 14 months, then deleted automatically.
Emails: up to 12 months after the conversation ends, unless needed for a correction record.
Article view counts: kept as totals only, with no personal data.

7. Your rights under the DPDP Act 2023

Access — ask what personal data we hold about you.
Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
Erasure — ask us to delete your data.
Withdraw consent — use “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page, or the button above, at any time. Withdrawing is as easy as giving consent.
Grievance — raise a complaint with us, and if you are not satisfied, with the Data Protection Board of India.

8. Grievance contact

Email vettrithalapathyteam@gmail.com with the subject “Privacy request”. We aim to reply within 7 days and resolve requests within 30 days.

9. Children

The site is meant for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18.

10. Changes to this policy
