CM Vijay travels to Vijayawada on 13 October for his first meeting with Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu, to discuss Krishna water under the Telugu Ganga scheme and river linking.
Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay will travel to Vijayawada on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, for his first meeting with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu since taking office. The talks will focus on securing Tamil Nadu’s share of Krishna water for Chennai and on river-linking plans, according to the official itinerary released on Monday (Daily Thanthi, ETV Bharat).
The Chief Minister will be accompanied by Water Resources Minister N. Anand, Chief Secretary Sai Kumar and Water Resources Secretary Prashant M. Vadnere (Daily Thanthi).
Krishna water stored in the Poondi, Cholavaram, Red Hills and Chembarambakkam lakes is a key part of Chennai’s drinking water supply, so a fuller release before summer matters to millions of households in the capital region.

A delegation of Andhra Pradesh MPs had called on the Chief Minister in Chennai on October 6 and invited him to Vijayawada Utsav 2.0 and the Dasara celebrations at the Kanaka Durga temple. Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan is also expected to meet him, reports said (ETV Bharat, Gulte).
Chennai depends on Krishna water each year, and the shortfall so far makes this meeting timely. The visit follows his call to Prime Minister Narendra Modi at IIT Madras on October 11 that “strong states make a strong India”, and reflects a cooperative approach to settling water issues through dialogue between neighbours.
