During his Chennai visit with CM Vijay on 11 October, PM Modi launched or laid foundation stones for over ₹13,000 crore of projects across Tamil Nadu. The full list, district by district.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Chennai on October 11, 2026, hosted by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, brought development projects worth more than ₹13,000 crore to Tamil Nadu. They were inaugurated, dedicated or had foundation stones laid, and they reach well beyond Chennai — from Madurai and Thiruvarur to Coimbatore, Thoothukudi, Palani and Namakkal (PMO, ANI).

Foundation stone for a Group II/III Lube Oil Base Stocks (LOBS) unit at Chennai Petroleum Corporation's Manali refinery, with a capacity of 270,000 tonnes a year (PMO).

6. IIT Madras — Sudha Gopalakrishnan Brain Centre

The Prime Minister's programme also included prayers at the Jalakandeswarar Temple and the golden-jubilee celebration of Jaigopal Garodia Hindu Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Chennai (PMO).
