01 · Overview

The Film

Vijay, a Tamil professor, fights illicit liquor and prostitution in his friend's neighbourhood. After a politically protected gangster kills members of his family, he turns into a masked night-time vigilante called Robin Hood, and a CID officer is sent to track him down.

A box office success; Jump Cut's Kumuthan Maderya compared it to the Death Wish films, and Kalki predicted it would run on the strength of Rajinikanth and Bhagyaraj.
