Karumegangal Kalaigindrana

Retired judge Ramanathan is estranged from his son Komagan, a prominent High Court advocate, after a dispute over a case. A letter reveals that his former lover had a daughter, Kanmani, who was jailed in a case he himself had judged. He quietly travels to Rameswaram to find her while his children search for him, and on the way befriends Veeramani, a hotel owner looking for his own daughter. Ramanathan helps reunite that family and confesses the truth to Kanmani, who refuses to forgive him, leaving him consumed by guilt.

Critics were divided: some faulted the screenplay and found the film emotionally distant, while acknowledging the sincerity of its story. Several Tamil-language publications were more positive, praising its depiction of family bonds.
