Abdul Khaliq, a non-resident Indian, arrives in Tamil Nadu on the day of a major political conference and finds himself trapped in a time loop. Every time he dies, the same day begins again. He gradually uncovers a conspiracy to assassinate the Chief Minister at the conference and clashes with a ruthless police officer, Dhanushkodi, who is also aware of the loop. Khaliq must work out what ties him to the repeating day and fulfil a specific objective to break free.

The film opened to positive reviews, with praise for its inventive time-loop concept and the face-off between Silambarasan and S. J. Suryah. It became a major commercial success and reportedly recovered its costs within days of release.
