Vijay and his neighbour Anitha are secretly in love, but her police-officer father moves to Madras to keep them apart. Vijay follows, is wrongly blamed for a death at a restaurant, and goes on the run before teaming with Anitha's father to expose the guilty restaurant owner, who has kidnapped her.
