Women heads of households who are existing Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thittam (KMUT) beneficiaries are automatically eligible. New applicants can apply through their nearest PDS shop or Block Office. Coverage is expected for 1.15 crore+ women.
This benefit is auto-applied to all domestic consumer accounts by TANGEDCO — no application is needed. If your household consumes up to 200 units within a 2-month billing cycle, your bill is zero.
