Kodi

Kodi and Anbu are identical twins from Pollachi. Kodi follows their father, a party worker who burned himself to death protesting a polluting mercury factory, into politics, while Anbu becomes an apolitical college professor. Kodi's girlfriend Rudra is a rising politician in the rival ruling party, and the two end up facing each other in a by-election. Ambition pushes Rudra to murder Kodi, so Anbu takes his brother's place, wins the seat and sets out to uncover the truth about the killing and the mercury scandal.

Critics were largely positive. They praised Dhanush for playing two clearly different characters and Trisha for an unusual turn as the antagonist, and several called it an engaging, well-made commercial entertainer.
