Nayyapudai

Vellaichamy is a retired army veteran who lives alone in Chennai and looks after poor children in his neighbourhood. After he stops a bus hijacking carried out by a jailed smuggler's men, he takes in a television reporter named Vijay and her colleague, who have eloped. This brings him into conflict with the gangster Baby Anaconda and Satyamurthy, a corrupt policeman who works for him. With Vijay's help, Vellaichamy fights back and turns the policeman against the gangster.

Reviews were mostly negative: critics called the execution clumsy and the story formulaic, and singled out the cinematography as a strength. One critic praised Chandrasekhar for his realistic performance in an action role at his age.
